Curtains

At Serene Blinds and Awnings we specialise in custom made curtains, have an expert team at your service and a large range of options to choose from to create your dream look.  With over 25 years of experience installing curtains, we've discovered that they are one of the best window covering options for a variety of reasons:

Stylish and Elegant  Curtains are a stylish and functional window covering that have stood the test of time.  An elegant way to frame a window, they can be used to achieve a variety of looks and feels to a room.  Changing out curtains is one of the easiest ways to refresh a room’s style without the need for major renovations.

Light Control Curtains allow you to control the amount of natural light that enters a room. You can adjust them to filter light for a soft, ambient glow or block it out completely for a darker, cozier atmosphere.

Noise Reduction Certain fabrics, particularly thicker curtains, can help dampen noise from outside or between rooms. This can be especially beneficial in noisy environments or apartments where soundproofing is limited.

Temperature Regulation Curtains help with insulation, keeping your space warmer in winter by preventing heat from escaping and cooler in summer by blocking excess heat. This can make your home more comfortable year-round.

Header Styles

The curtain header or heading is the area at the top of the curtain which attaches to the rod or track.  There are a range of header styles to choose from and each one will change the look of the curtains dramatically, as well as influencing the type of track or rod that is needed.

Double pinch pleat - A traditional header style characterised by 2 pleats at the front, it provides a good level of fullness and stacks back neatly.

Reverse pleat (box pleat) - A classic header style characterised by uniformed flat folds providing a traditional elegant look

Gathered (pencil pleat) - Small pencil sized pleats which can be made to to achieve different levels of fullness.  A simpler, less decorative header style, it is often used on a blockout or dimout fabric behind sheers.

Wave - A contemporary wave style providing a simple clean line and particularly lends itself well to sheers and synthetic fabrics.
